Elephants are very skilled swimmers. Without even taking courses or taking patents. This gift comes from two very special characteristics that distinguish them: the first is linked to the immoderate passion that these huge pachyderms have for water. The other is related to their particular physical conformation, which helps them to float very well.
Elephants love water so much that in arid and dry seasons they keep rolling in mud puddles or streams in order to keep themselves wet and fresh. But it is the living and clean water that makes them completely ecstatic!
Indeed, they are first-class swimmers and manage to wade rivers, lakes and move around the sea without any problem, thanks to the large and rounded shape of their size, which resembles the keel of a boat.
