If you are an extra seasonal traveler, Cambodia will sooner or later be your destination. Why not soon? Within two months there will be for one of the most interesting events in the whole country, the water festival (bon om touk).
This ceremony – scheduled for November 2-4 – marks the end of the rainy season and the inversion of the waters of the Tonlé Sap river, a fundamental phenomenon for the life of the Cambodian people. The celebrations are chaired by the sovereign himself and are celebrated in every corner of the country: banquets, fireworks, music and dances are planned. But the most engaging event are the boat races blessed by the monks in Phnom Penh and Angkor (a destination not to be missed, its temples literally leave you speechless).
