Jikka is the most beautiful retirement home in the world and is located among the Shizuoka Trees in Japan. Designed by Tokyo architect Issei Suma, the structure has resin floors, internal concrete walls covered with wood on the outside, plus a fairytale atmosphere given by the lighting.
In a fairytale context, the swimming pool could not be missing. And in fact here it is, essential, round and spiral, to allow a gradual descent even for people in wheelchairs.
Japanese design has always something more to tell, because – before simple shapes and natural materials – it is love, attention and kindness towards others.
